Was a big shocked when I saw the initial photos, it's a near identical greenhouse. Just one has a long hood and one has a big rump.

But I also don't want it to look like it's face got smashed into a brick wall. Can they do that?

Obligatory Accord reference.
But seriously, I just don't see it, I have no idea why people are collectively thinking this.

Am I the only one who sees the GT more as an Homage to the W198?

All that matters to me is price.
If the fastest version of this car is cheaper than the 911 Turbo then it will be a good deal. Imagine if their S is priced similar to the Carrera S. Moar speed and German luxury for same price.

I'm not seeing it. That's about as close as a Camry and a Fusion.
They ARE both silver with four wheels, though. And lights, they have lights.

I think blunt nose is just how MB rolls now. They achieve brand synergy by punching all the clay models in the face just before production.

That, or Lewis Hamilton has more influence on their design than we thought.

English bulldogs have such short snouts, though you may be onto something with the dog face. German shepherds have long square noses.

Because in North America we subconsciously like front-engine, rear-drive, and we've never gotten over that. Thankfully several German brands have never given up that configuration.
I definitely had to watch the gif a few more times to see which looked better. I'll admit AMG did have the edge.
